Day Thirty. 366 Project. Picture # 30. "Broken House". Heading out of Austin on Highway 290 it does not take long to leave the city behind and enter farming country. The clock turns back very quickly and the area turns even more rural as you leave the main roads and head out on the small "farm to market" roads. This amazing structure and tree is close to the intersection of FM 973 and FM 1660. There is a small collection of buildings that are surrounded by broken things. Farm equipment, tires, trash of all sorts even children's cast off toys clutter the area. This building seems to have been the main house and all of the other buildings were the out buildings for farm equipment. It has been a very long time since this place has been used for anything other than a dump. There is a tree that has grown up through one of the abandoned pieces of equipment.
